We’re a family-run business that was imagined and launched from an entrepreneurial spirit and a love of language and design.
Ashley is our idea generator and the brains behind The Type Set Co. and #AlphabetMagnetDay. Paul, her husband, is an engineering superhero who always figures out how to make Ashley’s ideas tangible. Their son, Opie, is a next-generation small business mastermind. He contributes ideas and muscle, while always impressing us with thoughts about how something might work more efficiently.
The Story Behind Re-Imagined Alphabet Magnets
When their son, Opie was little they had one of those ugly multi-colored sets on our fridge. As Opie out-grew them, Ashley and Paul noticed something interesting – Their guests were constantly tinkering with them to see what inappropriate word or phrase they could spell out with the available letters – it was such a fun game for their friends and family. After a while, Ashley wished that she could give her letters a makeover… change the colors at least…. Make then a little more sophisticated so they fit with their home’s decor. That’s when The Type Set Co was born.
Here are a few more fun facts about us!
We started The Type Set Co. in 2017 based on an idea Ashley had in the shower the year before. But we’ve loved alphabet letters for even longer than that!
We live and work on our 11+ acre property about 30 minutes north of Atlanta.
We love the #lakelife! From wake surfing to sailboating, you’ll find us enjoying the water whenever we have the chance!
The other members of our family are our four Brittany dogs - Winnie, Chester, Rifle, and Rosie.
Our spare time is spent on home projects, gardening, or scheming our next big idea or adventure.
